We are searching for a part-time Instructor, EAP to support newcomers with CLB 2-5 levels to build the language competencies, skills and knowledge needed to become employment ready in the fields of Transportation/Supply Chain.

What you will be doing:
- Provide instruction in compliance with EAP Curriculum Guidelines and Canadian Language Benchmarks
- Design and provide professional, appropriate and motivational short and long-term lesson plans consistent with accepted teaching methods and the needs and levels of students
- Incorporate a variety of learning materials into lesson plans to meet different learning styles
- Submit lesson plans in timely manner to EAP Manager
- Prepare class activities related to the transportation/supply chain professions to enhance participants’ workplace communication skills, understand the fundamental knowledge required for various positions in transportation/supply chain fields
- Design and deliver classroom instruction while considering students’ digital literacy levels and incorporating appropriate educational applications to enhance learning.
- Work with individual students to determine their learning goals and provide regular feedback on their progress
- Ensure an anti-oppression and anti-discrimination approach while fostering a welcoming, diverse, and inclusive environment where participants feel welcomed and actively participate
- Prepare and administer assessments to evaluate students’ progress
- Maintain clear and accurate record of students’ achievements, outcomes and attendance
- Orient students to relevant CCS policies
- Plan events to complement curriculum activities to promote active participation of learners each day
- Ensure the confidentiality of participants and agency files and documentation (electronic and hard copy) in accordance with all required policies
- Complete monthly reports and provide narrative and statistical information as required
- Participate in professional development sessions and incorporate relevant material to enhance program outcomes
- Identify and communicate areas for improvement, including but not limited to curriculum, delivery methods, and professional development events
- Collaborate with EAP program and other CCS staff to ensure students have access to all CCS programs and services as needed
- Ensure responsible use and care of all CCS equipment and resources
What are we looking for?
- TESL Certificate from a recognized institution and ongoing membership with TESL Ontario or Canada
- Previous successful experience (minimum 2 years) teaching Workplace ESL or ELT at various levels
- Excellent lesson planning skills
- Demonstrated experience working with adults of diverse cultural backgrounds
Location: Toronto, ON
Compensation: $38.30 to $42.63 based on experience
Hours of work: Total 315 instructional hours per year for the duration of the contract, based on schedule provided by EAP Manager
