Position: Full-Time Resource & Information Outreach Specialist -Temporary Contract
(contract ending March 31, 2025). -Non-Unionized
Reporting to: Executive Director

Salary: $21.00/ hour
Location: (Yonge & Eglinton) In-Office + Hybrid
Start Date: October 15 2024
Hours/Shifts: Monday – Friday from 9:00 am -5:00 pm

Main Duties:
The position provides resources and shares knowledge of TCES programs and services as well as other community services and labour market information to both clients and employers. The individual will be assisting individuals in the resource area of TCES to provide guidance in job search related areas. The individual will be thoroughly knowledgeable about labour market resources and how to apply the labour market information to assist clients job search needs and when to refer unassisted and assisted clients to wrap around supports. This position requires experience in planning, organizing, and delivering and evaluating workshops, information sessions and group intakes that supports client’s employment needs.

Assisting individuals who access the Resource Centre, helping them with computer proficiency, suggesting effective job search tips, making appropriate referrals to applicable services and interventions according to the Employment Ontario Service Delivery Guidelines

Assist individuals in computer usage and access to internet-based services, email, online self assessment quizzes/tests, employment preparation, labour market information resources, career development tools, ad employment and training decision making websites.

Ensures that proper written documentation and details for each file are complete within a timely manner and consistently updated in internal mandated online data systems ready for file audits

Generates valid job leads with supports and resources to facilitate the hiring of clients with or without incentives

Plan, organize, facilitate and deliver networking session and employment related workshops

Develop outreach strategies to partner with community organizations

Collect community resource information about programs and services and wrap around supports for clients in the GTA

Initiates and maintains accurate documentation of contacted employers, job leads and any other job development activity for information retrieval

Assists clients with the provision of resource and information within the TCES Resource Room regarding their job search, including assisting with computer/Internet, and telephone

Accurately documents client information in the client relationship database system

Participates in the evaluation of program activities, workshops, information sessions including collection of statistics and feedback.

Attends meeting/case conferencing and visits agencies to promote TCES services and updates knowledge of changes in programs and resources available to participants

Works collectively with the team to meet contractual program targets and deadlines

Attend staff and board meetings as required by the management team
