CCS is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or immigration status.
We are searching for a part-time Settlement Worker, Itinerant to providing settlement information and referral services to immigrants and refugees to aid in their settlement and integration into the community. The position works from established offsite locations within the community.

What you will be doing:
- Provide client-centred settlement information and referral services including assessment, information and orientation services for immigrants and refugees at other community partners’ locations
- Use initial assessment of newcomers to develop personalized settlement plans
- Provide case management and supportive follow-up services
- Facilitate appropriate internal and external referrals and access to services in the community
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with host agencies
- Build partnerships with other service providers to connect clients with appropriate resources
- Organize, plan, facilitate group sessions as required by contract, and are in line with client needs
- Develop and implement community outreach plans to promote CCS programs and services
- Participate in regular program, team and regional meetings
- Collaborate with manager to develop and implement initiatives and/or focus activities to address newcomer needs. (e.g. financial literacy, youth, women)
- Maintain and update all client information in the OCMS database
- Prepare and submit statistical and progress reports to supervisor as required
What are we looking for?
- Social Service Work diploma or Social Work degree from recognized institution or equivalent training in community work sectors
- Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in the settlement and/or community work sectors.
- Ability to engage clients via online communication tools such as Zoom, Teams, and Google classroom, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram etc.
- Ability to build and maintain strong, ongoing partnerships community agencies
- Demonstrated cross-cultural communication skills with participants, other agencies and the public.
- Excellent oral and written skills in English and a second language is an asset
- Driver’s license and access to a vehicle is an asset.
Location: Brampton, ON
Compensation: $29.94 to $33.32 based on experience
Hours of work: 21 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and occasional overtime will be required
