Women Wellness Worker (Full-time, Contract until March 31, 2026)
CCS is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or immigration status.
We are searching for a full-time Women Wellness Worker who will be responsible to develop and facilitate wellness-focused activities and wellness group information sessions to newcomer women in a women-only social setting. The incumbent will be raising awareness, connecting to other newcomer women to build a social support network, develop an understanding of available services and resources, and provide short-term supportive counselling to connect to appropriate specialized counselling resources.

What you will be doing:
Develop and facilitate wellness-focused activities and tools for newcomer women to build resilience, and social connections
Liaise between CCS program teams to facilitate referrals and additional supports for newcomer women
Provide one on one supportive counselling and case management to program participants per needed, virtually & in person
Provide appropriate information and referrals to internal and external services as required
Develop a network of community contacts for referral; make appropriate referrals to community services
Actively outreach to connect to newcomer women to resources and services in the community
Collaborate with CCS staff assisting clients on VAW services, resources and safe referrals
Raise public awareness on the issues of domestic violence and abuse
Provide recommendations for improvement, development and/or expansion of the program to ensure proactive response to changing needs
Create, maintain, and submit accurate records and documents in a timely manner
Ensure client files are fully updated with required documentation and case notes after each interaction
Participate in regular team meetings
What are we looking for?
Post-secondary education in the Social Sciences, social work, social service worker, psychology or equivalent combination of education and experience
1-2 years’ experience in related human services work, or equivalent
Previous experience in mental health service prevision
Knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to issues related to immigrant and refugee women and VAW services
Proven experience in providing Psycho-social needs assessment to plan client-centred service delivery including short-term counselling and referrals.
Location: 3660 Hurontario St., Mississauga, ON
Compensation: $35.38 to $39.38 based on experience
Hours of work: 35 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and occasional overtime as required
